Early Saturday morning Wendy Harrison (my awesome second) and I headed up to Charlottesville, VA to shoot Justin & Amanda’s wedding. They were married at the Clifton Inn and it was breath-taking…A photographers dream location. They were some quick planners. They became fiance’s in January and were ready to walk down the aisle a short 5 months later. I had the privilege of taking some engagement photos for them back in April and knew their wedding photos would turn out lovely.
Even though it was a scorching 97 degrees with dripping sweat humidity, the wedding was beautiful and a complete success. Here’s a few of my favorites. Consider this a sneak peak! Oh, and they are honeymooning in Tahiti! Lucky…

and Amanda’s adorable nephew…

Happy Monday everyone:)

i told you so!
Monday & Tuesdays are now fully uploaded and ready to be seen! (I’m sure you all were on the edge of your seat…)

Monday
This was Nick and I’s day to relax and be together without anywhere to be. We drove to Indianapolis to go shopping with a specific destination in mind. I have always loved Tiffany’s jewelry store so he took me there and I was in Heaven! We kept our hands to ourselves and showed our humble upbringing when we spotted a 4×6 white gold frame for $597. (:LKS$%#@FJ!!@@@???!)
After a quick visit to Crate & Barrel and Anthropologie, we decided this mall was way too ritzy and headed to downtown Indianapolis to shop in the city. (much better)

Nick took this picture of the birds and I adore it.

We ended our shopping trip with Steak and Shake. I would have never expected to see one in the middle of the city.

Tuesday
Our drive back home day. We left at 8am and arrived home safely close to 9:30. Here’s some shots from the drive back.

(okay..this was Monday…so what)

(love this..shot from Lexington car window)

So that’s all folks. No more Indiana goodness. Now back to reality.
Busy weekend. Tomorrow I will be shooting Amanda & Justin’s wedding in Charlottesville. They will be married at 11am with a small brunch afterwards. I look forward to documenting their special day and sharing the photos with you!

Best Wishes Mr. & Mrs. King!

You know that sad feeling you get the day before vacation is over? You can hardly enjoy your last day because the thought of driving home seems to obnoxiously stay lodged in the back of your mind. We had a wonderful time in Indiana. Lots of yummy food, fun pictures and lots of laughs. That’s what it’s all about, right?
“So…” you ask…”how do you choose which pictures to post?” weeellll my friend, I simply choose 2(ish) favorites from each day…even though choosing 2 favorites in my eyes is kind of like finding a green earring you dropped in tall grass.

BAM for a good analogy.

Friday
the 12 hour drive up. I believe I photographed everything visible in the car. It surely felt like Virginia weather with all of the rain, no rain, rain, no rain, rain, no rain. My Ipod died a frightening 1 hour into the trip. Thank goodness I had dear Lola (my canon) to keep me company.

Saturday
We began the early day with cereal and yard-saling. Apparently we were all thrilled about the treasures we would find. Nick found an old race car and a black lamp for his apartment and I wound up with a vintage bubble gum machine, some old mason jars and a 1974 book on Great Britain. Thank you dear yardsales for making 7am seem so charming.

Oh…and these two adorable little girls. I asked if I could take a picture of their tattoos and the older one quickly corrected me and said…’it’s finger paint’….I stand corrected:)

After putting away our new found goodies, we got ready for dinner at Barcelona’s and then onto Indianapolis to see Sarah graduate.

Sunday

Nick’s brother in law, Dustin, is the Creative Arts Pastor at Friendship in Greenwood, IN. We started off the day in the Lord’s house simply praising His name. Great worship and sermon, awesome environment. The rest of the day consisted of singing along to Wee Sing in Sillyville , NASCAR and amazing breakfast for dinner. I do say breakfast for dinner on Sunday nights should become an American tradition.

Monday and Tuesday’s photos are yet to be uploaded. I assure you they will come!

Let me leave you with this quote…well suited for Wednesdays.

“I’ve been on a diet for two weeks and all I’ve lost is two weeks”

Friday was the big day. Nick’s parent’s and I left Virginia around 1:30 to see Sarah graduate from AI of Indianapolis…and so I could see Nicholas;) We finally arrived around 12:45 a.m.

I found this recipe online for ‘cute as a button’ cookies. I knew Sarah would appreciate their charm and since I don’t cook (well), I’m glad they were simple! Here’s how to make them.
Start out with some store-bought sugar cookie dough and cut into small pieces.
Depending on your color scheme find some coordinating baking sugar to add some color to your buttons!
Roll the small pieces of dough into balls. Dip the bottom of a small glass into the cookie dough to make the sugar stick then press the dough gently until it resembles a button. I know, this is pretty technical.
Use a skewer to poke small holes to form the button holes.
Lastly, bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. (or follow the directions on the dough label)
Finish them off with a cute jar, plastic wrap and curly ribbon. Voila! budget friendly graduation present!

they were oh so delicious! thank u again for a wonderful time!ReplyCancel

I have not been nearly this excited in a long time. I sped home and I am dreadfully thankful there weren’t any citizen protectors lurking about anxiously awaiting to write me a love note. There it was…sitting on my bed…begging to be opened. I played around with it until around midnight….without further ado…my first shot.

I have found a recurring theme with photographers, wedding photographers that is. 87% of them seem to be married to the love of their life or in a most satisfying relationship with their best friend.

love must be contagious.

Out to visit my nicholas-be back on Wednesday:)
