How’s this for a Southern wedding?  A few minutes off of route 460, we turn onto a gravel drive and pull up to a picture perfect wedding scene.  Amy chose to get married at her father’s house in Dinwiddie county, a perfectly tended historical building that was once used as a Civil War hospital.  It’s a gorgeous house, standing tall on one of the property’s gently rolling hills.  The first thing we saw as we drove up was a field of sunflowers that we found out later, the bride’s father planted, just for her ceremony!  The alter was just in front of the flowers, a beautifully minimal antique mantel.  There were rows of oak church pews lined up along the lawn just in front of the generous porch steps that the bride would later walk down.  Those sunflowers sure had us swooning!

Everyone was relaxed, happy, and laughed easily – we could tell that they were very present and ready to enjoy their day! The ceremony was brief and we had gorgeous sunlight; the sultry sun was low in the sky and the sunflowers absolutely glowed – the perfect backdrop for capturing Amy & Reuben’s first moments as Mr. & Mrs.

    Hi Kristin,

I absolutely love your photography! You’re so talented! I was wondering what type of camera you have and what lenses you typically use when shooting a wedding?

Thank you & keep up the good work!
